On an early August evening, under a completely overcast sky, all hope for a sunset seemed gone. Minutes before the sun dipped below the horizon, a sudden intuition pushed me to send the drone up one last time not expecting anything more than a few extra frames.
 
But as the drone lifted above the desert plains, the sky opened for a brief moment. Explosive sunrays broke through the clouds and illuminated the iconic green cone of Mælifell with a golden fire. The transformation lasted less than ten minutes before the light vanished again.
 
To preserve every detail of this rare moment, the image was created as a 50-photo bracketed panorama, allowing for exceptional dynamic range and clarity across the entire landscape from the textures of the black sand desert to the glowing moss slopes of the mountain.
 
Printed by hand on museum-grade fine-art paper, each print is individually inspected, signed, and numbered. Available in two strictly limited editions:
